Nothing to say... I really should finish my History essay. 2005-04-16 21:10:06 skomentuj (0) Animal Farm, soiree three It's finished. I really wish that it would stay on longer than three days. It was great fun; walking on all fours, making all kind of animal noises, singing and acting altogether. Today was the best night ever. The ambiance was great. According to a mum that comes to see the plays for many years now, there has never been so many people that came to see any play (junior, middle or senior). We had a full house (which is about 230 places), there were chairs added, some people were sitting on the floor and sometimes there were two kids per chair. I'll try to get detailed data but this was really incredible. As we went downstairs to the loges after the performance we were screaming and then we started singing "Beasts of England". If you were there, tell me what you think 2005-03-12 23:07:09 skomentuj (1) Animal Farm, soiree two When I said about the play that nothing worse could happen, I was wrong. Our Snowball was quite ill yesterday; she didn't come to school and didn't play the sheep in act 2 - she went home instead. So today's performance is under a question mark - we might not have a Snowball and it's difficult to learn lines in only a few hours' advance. Today I went to a casting and I think I did pretty well because I made the jury smile when I answered their first question. And I was smiling and my usual charming self. They said they will put my data on the web and I can get a job as a hostesse or have a smell part in a film. 2005-03-12 15:31:55 skomentuj (0) Animal Farm, soiree one What show it was. It started fine, very few lines were forgotten. It was ok until about two thirds into the second act. If you know the book; it was a few minutes after the windmill was blown away. For that we had an explosions - pyrotechnics all included. And our wonderful fire alarm doesn't react to fire but to smoke. So just before Boxer was about to collapse the fire alarm went off. For a few minutes we were behaving like animals: eating grass and wandering about in hope that the god forsaken thing will shut up. It never did. After about the third round (it goes eee-ooo announce in French , English and German then it starts again) we, the actors, were told to do bow and go away. Do we did and someone from the cast stardet to sing "Beasts of England" and the actors picked it up and I screamed myself hoarse trying to be audible through the fire alarm. So we went off, people went to the lobby, some were already leaving when the alarm stopped. And everyone decided they want to see the end. So there was a frantic: "Get back on stage!!! And we did and we finished the show. Everyone thought it was great and patient. Now I doubt anything can go worse than it did today - we can only do better. And most of us think that because of the fire alarm and the way we behaved through it - with determination to go on and certain professionalism - we'll have (nearly) full house tomorrow and on Saturday. 2005-03-10 23:50:10 skomentuj (0) Rocky Horror Picture Show It took me quite a long time to get my hands on this movie but I think that it was worth it. I mean, I can catch more things in English than I could two years ago or so. And the film was for over 15 year olds. It started badly for me because I asked my Mum kindly to go away to a different room and repeated the plea after she sat for five minutes on the couch "just sitting there". So she started crying and threw a tantrum that I'm ungrateful and how I dare throw her out of her own living room. A film like this could have only been made in the seventies. With all the ancient effects it was a bit funny but altogether it was ridiculous. In a very good way. I had a good laugh. Especially when the scene with the doctor went through the heroine and the hero and promised both of them "not to tell". And for some reason I found Riff Raff very fetching (more so than Rocky Horror). With his hair down he looked edible. It would have been better without that back but one can't have everything. I got also an idea of gettin myself a black wig and going to a Halloween party as the doctor. Or yet convince a friend to let me dress him up. I was bound to love the film. I read about it in one of the fanfictions from the Marauders' era and then it popped up in a few more places and my curiosity went up and up. Especially after "Mad Mad mad Mad Trailer Show" that Utopolis put on last summer. I loved the music and costumes. I was thinking where from I can get a soundtrack or whether I could find a relatively cheap DVD. 2005-03-06 00:51:59 skomentuj (0) |
